Place names associated with Sankaradeva is a book which presents a methodical work on medieval toponymic, hydronimic, oronymic, micro-toponymic and hodonymic features with corresponding contemporary onomastic elements on Sankaradeva’s time as gleaned from various guru charits, genealogies, inscriptions and histories written by Sarat Kumar Phukan and published by ABILAC in the year 2015. This book containing 768 pages presents a plethora of information various aspects of toponyms during Sankaradeva’s time. The book starts with a 4o pages of photographic materials including maps of India, Assam and in particular showing locations of Sankaradeva’s birth place, route migration of Bhuyan’s from Gujrat to Assam, and other maps showing contemporary locations of Sankaradeva’s time. This is followed by six main chapters which are 1) Toponyms related to the forefathers of Sankaradeva; 2) Toponyms connected with Sankaradeva’s time; 3) Toponyms connected with First Pilgrimage of Sankaradeva; 4) Toponyms connected with Post-Pilgrimage; 5) Toponyms related to the second Pilgrimage of Sankaradeva; 6) Toponyms connected with Sankaradeva and his disciples. The last chapter is followed by a conclusion, Appendice, Glossary Bibliography and Index.
