Anandam Journal of Anundoram Borooah Institute of Language, Art and Culture, Assam a UGC CARE listed, peer reviewed research journal published annually by Anundoram Borooah Institute of Language, Art and Culture, Assam calls for Research articles and papers. Honouring the prestigious classical status conferred on the Assamese language, it is decided that the present issue will be bilingual (Assamese and English) with focus on language under the following headings

i) Linguistic Perspectives of Classical Assamese: This section will prioritize the history and evolution of the Assamese language and linguistic features of Classical Assamese, highlighting its unique characteristics and evolution over time.

ii) Historical Perspectives of Classical Assamese: Contributions under this head may focus on the historical aspects of ancient Assam, tracing its origin and examining its influence on regional and national identity to trace back the antiquity of Assamese language.

iii) Archaeological Perspectives of Classical Assamese: This area will investigate archaeological findings related to Classical Assamese, providing insights into ancient scripts, inscriptions, and other archaeological resources.

iv) Ethnicity and Classical Assamese: Under this area scholars will explore the relationship between ethnicity and the development of Classical Assamese, examining how ethnicity has intersected and shaped Assamese language again and again.

v) Cultural Perspectives on Classical Assamese: This section will delve into the cultural expressions found in epics, Puranas, folk lore, oral traditions and other literary documents. Emphasize will be given in their relevance in contemporary society of Assam and its linguistic varieties.

vi) Anthropological Perspectives of Classical Assamese: This area will include the socio-cultural frameworks that surrounds Classical Assamese, including its role in community practices and social structures.

vii) Protection and preservation of local languages of North East India: This area will include the study of the process of protection and preservation of various local languages of North East India, emphasizing their importance in today’s world.

viii) Any other topic related to the development process of language in the society and its importance.

Last date for submission of paper is 25 April, 2025

Rs 500.00 will be deposited as registration fee at the time of paper submission which is non-refundable.

Note: Papers in both Assamese and English languages will be accepted for submission.

There will be no processing fees for the selected papers. This publication will be part of an open-access online journal, ensuring all articles are freely accessible to readers worldwide.

Each of the papers will undergo an anonymous review process. The final selection of the papers for publication will be done on the basis of the review report. However, the editorial board of Anandam reserves the right in the final selection of papers for this issue of Anandam.
