The Dictionary Project
The mission and vision of Anundoram Borooah Institute of Language, Art and Culture (ABILAC), Assam includes promotion and development the indigenous languages. In keeping with this aim, ABILAC has been working actively with various indigenous communities towards publishing, trilingual dictionaries in the their languages. These dictionaries are designed to have headwords in the source language followed by pronunciation in IPA, grammatical category and meanings of the headword of the source language, Assamese and English. ABILAC began the process of compiling dictionaries in printed form from its inception.
